I’m especially fond of indie projects. I love that feeling of proximity you get when working with small studios.
So when Legendo asked me to work with them again after Ghost Mania and told me about an adventure game packed with strategy, pirates and naval warfare, I couldn’t hold back a smile.
You’ve probably heard the saying “with great power comes great responsibility” quoted a million times, but that was definitely the case for me this time—minus the bit about climbing up walls, jumping from building to building and pulling off the skin-tight lycra look. I was given the freedom to be really creative, but that also meant I had to take on a lot more responsibility.
Apart from translating the whole game, I was also given the chance to test the changes as they were implemented. I was able to paint a clear picture of the context and polish up each of the details after visualizing the texts.
I took on the task of testing the translation from the outset and I threw myself into delivering a visually-attractive game combined with a text that would read really well

I also researched the terminology extensively, suggesting names and working closely with the developer.
